Polyaluminum chloride (PAC) is an efficient inorganic coagulant widely used in water treatment, papermaking, food processing, petrochemical and other fields. It forms high-molecular compounds through polymerization reactions and has excellent flocculation properties and a lower cost of use.

1.Appearance and color:

• Solid PAC is commonly available in yellow, light yellow or white powder or granular form. The depth of color mainly depends on its raw materials and preparation process. White PAC, also known as high-purity iron-free white PAC or food-grade white PAC, is the highest quality product. It is suitable for multiple fields such as paper sizing agents, sugar decolorization clarifiers, leather tanning, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, precision casting and water treatment.

• Liquid PAC is usually a light yellow to colorless transparent liquid with a concentration of 10%-20%. Its color and concentration are determined by the polymerization degree and acidity of aluminum chloride.

2. Particle size:

• Different application scenarios have different requirements for particle size. For example, in the detergent industry, a finer particle size (such as above 1000 mesh) is usually required to ensure uniform dispersion in the formula. In contrast, in the glass industry, a coarser particle size (around 325 mesh) may be needed to meet the requirements of the melting process.

Water Treatment:

• Drinking Water Treatment: As a flocculant, it effectively removes suspended solids, colloidal particles, heavy metal ions, and other harmful substances from water. The flocculation effect is significant, achieving good treatment results at low dosages.

• Wastewater Treatment: Used to remove harmful substances from industrial and domestic wastewater, such as oil, dyes, petroleum-based materials, and other organic pollutants. It is commonly used in combination with other water treatment chemicals (such as coagulant aids and flocculant assistants).

• River Water Treatment: In cases of eutrophication and water quality deterioration, it is used to treat algal blooms and harmful substances in river water, improving the overall water quality.
