Product Description

Calcium chloride is a common inorganic compound with the chemical formula CaCl₂. It appears as a white crystalline solid or powder. Calcium chloride is highly soluble in water and releases a significant amount of heat when dissolved. It has a wide range of applications. In industry, it is used as a desiccant to remove moisture from gases and liquids. In construction, it can be added to concrete to accelerate the setting process. In food processing, it is used as a firming agent and electrolyte. Additionally, it is applied in de-icing products to melt ice and snow on roads and sidewalks. However, it should be handled with care as it can be corrosive to certain materials and may cause irritation to skin and eyes.

Application

  1. De - icing Agent
       - Widely used on roads, sidewalks, and runways in winter. Dihydrate calcium chloride effectively lowers the freezing point of water, melting ice and snow quickly, thus enhancing safety.
    2. Dust Control
       - Sprayed on unpaved roads and construction sites. It binds dust particles, preventing them from becoming airborne and reducing dust pollution.
    3. Refrigeration Brine
       - Functions as a coolant in refrigeration systems. Its ability to absorb and transfer heat efficiently makes it suitable for maintaining low temperatures.
    4. Textile Industry
       - Used in textile processing. It helps in sizing and finishing operations, improving the quality and appearance of fabrics.
    5. Food Industry
       - In the food industry, it can be used as a firming agent. For example, it helps keep fruits and vegetables firm during processing and storage.
