Product Description
Calcium hydroxide is a white powdery solid. It is also known as slaked lime. Calcium hydroxide exhibits the general properties of bases and is a strong base. The basicity of calcium hydroxide is stronger than that of sodium hydroxide (in terms of metal reactivity: calcium > sodium). However, due to its much lower solubility compared to sodium hydroxide, the corrosiveness and basicity of calcium hydroxide solutions are less than those of sodium hydroxide solutions. These properties determine that calcium hydroxide has a wide range of applications.
