Sodium Sulfite (Chemical Formula: Na₂SO₃) is a common sulfite that typically appears as a white crystalline powder or monoclinic crystals. It has strong reducing properties, is highly soluble in water, and its aqueous solution is alkaline. Sodium sulfite is prone to efflorescence and oxidation to sodium sulfate in the air, so it needs to be stored properly.
